There are endless haircut trends online.
Skin fades, tapers, textured crops, longer scissor cuts. Instagram will happily tell you what haircut you should be having this week.
But at CG Barbershop, we do not start with, “What haircut do you want?”
We start with, “What haircut is actually going to work for you?”
Because those are not always the same thing.
Your haircut has to fit your life
Before we pick up the clippers or scissors, we want to understand how you actually live with your hair.
Do you wash it every day? Do you own a hairdryer, or is that already asking too much? Do you use product? Do you train regularly? How much time do you actually want to spend styling your hair in the morning, and how often are you realistically going to come back and maintain it?
These things matter.
A haircut can look fantastic in a photo, but if it needs daily blow drying, three products and a level of commitment you simply do not have, then it is probably not the right haircut for you.
Face shape is only part of it
Yes, face shape matters.
But so does your hair type, density, texture, hairline, natural growth pattern and what your hair actually decides to do once it is dry.
Someone with thick, wavy hair has very different options from someone with fine, straight hair.
Someone who comes in every two weeks can maintain a much sharper cut than someone who remembers they need a haircut every six weeks when their fringe starts attacking their eyes.
The best haircut is the one that works with all of those things together.
Bring the photo
We actually like reference photos.
They give us a clear idea of what you like.
But we are not trying to copy the person in the picture.
Their hair might be thicker. Their hairline might be different. They might spend twenty minutes styling it every morning.
You might spend two.
A good barber should understand what you like about the photo and then adapt it to suit you.
That might mean changing the length, lowering the fade, leaving more weight in certain areas or choosing a slightly different finish.
The point is not to copy someone else’s haircut.
The point is to make it work on your head.
This is why the consultation matters
At CG Barbershop, the consultation is part of the service.
We look at your face shape, hair type, routine, styling habits, maintenance and what you actually want your hair to do once you leave the shop.
Sometimes the haircut you had in mind will be exactly right.
Sometimes a few small changes will make it work much better.
And sometimes we will tell you that something else will suit you more.
That is not us being difficult. That is the job.
Because a good haircut should not only look good when you leave the chair.
It should still work for you the next morning.
Our barbers will help you choose a haircut that actually suits your hair, your face and your routine.
